Epic Proportions Sixth Unit Completed

Imperial Robot Cohort

Sadly these four robots were my only completed miniatures for the Epic Proportions challenge in August.  Between the Inquisitional Conclave and the 2nd Edition Army challenge kicking off I did not get much time to work on my Epic forces.  However enough excuses let's talk about tiny war robots...

These four were fast and fun to paint, reminding me that part of the enjoyment of Epic minis is that you can paint them in a session or two when working on just a support cards worth of units.  I used Blood Angels Red contrast paint for the bodies and then drybrushed some Evil Sunz Scarlet on as a highlight.  Then it was just a matter of picking out the weapons in Boltgun Metal and some Averland Sunset highlighted to Flash Gitz yellow for the barrels of what I presume to be lascannons.  I do prefer my gun barrels to be brightly colored in proper 2nd edition style.

I think my favorite part of this unit turned out to be the base flocking.  I used some interesting very small leaves I got from White Metal Games at Nova open last year and mixed it with some standard small green flock and got and mixture that far more resemble grass than the usual green fuzzy look.  As usual thanks for reading and hopefully more Epic miniatures will roll off the painting line soon.
