Next Level Diorama Skills
I wonder how long it took to shake the sand off the infantry stands after they took the photos... ?

Blogosphere Cross Pollinations
Paperclix!
This oddly staged photo is a shout out to fellow blogger Spacecow Smith who helms the excellent Tales From Farpoint blog and also the recent Tales From the Inner Sphere blog. I showed my son a picture of some of the recent papercraft efforts at TFIS that had been using in a mech campaign. Later that day my son had cut up a cereal box and had already made several characters for a Marvel comics studio game which is my son's current favorite narrative source. He is very excited about being able to incorporate any Marvel character into his games instead of being limited by what Heroclix or Lego minifigures he has. Thanks to Spacecow for some unknowing inspiration for my son's gaming creativity.
In case it's not obvious, Deadpool, Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Nick Fury Jr |

Epic Proportions Fifth Unit Completed
Ultramarines 4th Land Raider Company "The Iron Gauntlet"
The beauty of massed formations of vehicles I think is one of the strongest hooks for my love of Epic. |
To be fair, this unit is 95% completed but since we were leaving on vacation and the month is coming to a close, I'm rushing this post to publishing. I don't want to miss Dr The Viking's end of month round up for the Epic Proportions challenge since I spent so much time the last three weeks painting all these tiny tanks. The nine Land Raiders of the the three squadrons that make up the company are fully completed but unfortunately the command Land Raider still needs some highlights and detail work. There are many more pictures and painting details after the jump...
Look the crafty command tank is intentionally blurring itself to hide the lack of highlights, stealth mode activated :-) |

Codex Titanicus!
Because... Awesome!
Ahhh, the long ago days when Space Wolves armour was actually grey with not a hint of blue in it... |
Being immersed in all things Epic for the last few months, it occurred to me recently that I had been holding onto a copy of Codex Titanicus that some kind person had gifted me many years ago. The gifting happened so long ago, I can't remember who had given it to me and it what capacity, other than it being a fellow gamer who passed it along in a, "Here's a thing I don't need anymore for that long dead game I know you enjoy" sort of way. At the time I received it I'm sure I paged through and ogled all the amazing art and painted miniatures. I think at one point I had read all the short fiction pieces inside it, but other than being an eldritch and valuable part of my lore horde it has sat unused on the shelf for many years. However now that I am neck deep in painting miniatures for this long retired game I have been referring back to the 'Eavy Metal pictures and color plates inside for painting inspiration. Since this book was released unbound for the purposes of adding it to a three ring binder its perfect for scanning the beauty and ripe imagination of its pages to share with my few intrepid readers. Pages from the book will pop up from week to week to replace some of my current features that are on hiatus for wont of material due to the slow walking march of apocalypse all of us in the states seemed doomed to endure. Enjoy!

Epic Proportions Fourth Unit Completed
3rd Land Raider Squadron, 3rd Company Support "The Flame's Heat"
This Unit was finished before the end of June but blog posts have been coming slowly as of late now that summer is here and occupying my children all day long is back to being a full time job. These Land Raiders were painted similar to the first squad I completed with a few minor alterations for head canon narrative reasons.

Dredd’s Revenants
Griffin GRF-1N Completed
Our campaign started a few months ago with our mercenary company, Dredd's Raiders, being ambushed by Liao forces while guarding a planet in the Free Worlds League. Our commander, Joe Dredd, and the rest of our mercenary colleagues were killed by the Cappellan battlemechs but our lance was rescued by a quick thinking dropship piloting who was fleeing the conquered world. Regrouping on a nearby Marik planet, we four companions took a a vow to find out who was responsible for betraying our Mercenary company and revenge against house Liao and their armies. Our unit became Dredd's Revenants as we set out on our mission to avenge our fallen commander and comrades.
