Zoomin’ Through The Inner Sphere

Citytech!

Our Battletech campaign continues over Zoom as our mercenary lance played several missions as part of a House Marik invasion of a Capellan Confederation world.

Since trying to see the board is difficult even with two cameras aimed at the mapsheet, I took a fellow blogger's suggestion to try some papercraft buildings from Germy.uk to add a three dimensional aspect for those playing over the interwebs.

Facing light resistance as we entered the city.

Once we had easily defeated the light tanks at the edge of the city we were ambushed by two Demolishers (represented by the two Vedettes) which were quite a challenge for our medium mechs in the close confines of the city.

The heaviest member of our lance went head to head against a Marauder in an expert move to gain an advantage by standing under the minimum range of the dual PPCs for multiple rounds of combat while the rest of our lance drove further into the city in search of the Capellan HQ that was our objective.

While our stalwart lance-mate took on the Marauder we defeated Catapult and Panther guarding the Capellan forces HQ leading to the defeat of their forces on the planet and greatly improving our mercenary units standing in the Free Worlds League.

  2. Nice! I have played a LOT of urban battles with those Germy buildings, I find they really do add to the experience. Did you make a pledge on the recent Clan Invasion Kickstarter?

    1. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Germy.uk, I think these buildings will work well for Epic games as well.
I did not pledge on the Clan kickstarter although I wanted too. I have three trinaries of unpainted pewter/lead clan mechs from back in the day I need to get to. I feel like kids today don't know that pewter crack was an epidemic in the hobby long before plastic crack ;-)
